And I am off!!!

I spent a week in Buffalo running around trying to see people and trying to get everything done so I wouldn't have to pack last minute but.....it didn't happen. I was able to gather a lot of clothes and toys from a lot of wonderful people (Alexis, Cheick and Kelly, Chantelle, Cheryl, my brother Ibrahim and sister Shaheedah, and Amy). Unfortunately I couldn't take everything but man did me and my mom try (see below). I especially want to thank my friend Amy as she did an awesome job gather clothes and best of all she gathered AFO's and splints that will be greatly appreciated. And then she went back and got me more clothes and shoes and brought them to me Friday! Thank you Amy! Special thanks to my sister Shaheedah for staying up til 2 am to do my hair (yes your like what she has hair ! :-)). A special thanks to my mom who helped me go through all the clothes and toys and helped me pack. Thank you family for putting money together to pay for the extra bags as I didn't want to take a third bag and my mom insisted and then asked everyone to donate to the cause. I of course complained but thank you.

My mom brought me to the airport and after we weighted everything (and it was a little under 50 lbs) kept shoving things into the bags.

One bag was 52 lbs (after being stuffed more), the second was 48 and the third was 51 lbs. After that ordeal I went through the TSA line and was told I couldn't take all my 3 oz bottles with me. Granted I had a lot but I was annoyed because I had called the airline and was told I could bring as many as I wanted in my carry-on as long as it was 3 oz. I then got out of the line and tried to see if they still had my bags at the counter to shove some more crap in. No luck but the nice TSA lady told me I could put as many of my bottles into a blue carrying case. So me and my mom shoved as many things as we could into there. So a special thanks to the TSA officers at Buffalo Niagara International Airport!! And lastly I am hoping that they let me take this slightly oversized bag as my carryon

I feel good about it because I see the delta representative that I had tried and I believe successfully convinced it was a carry-on bag (actually a backpacker backpack 65L) is at the boarding booth. So cross your fingers!

Success! Off to JFK I go.
