Santiago Atitlan day 2

Day 2 in Santiago was a little unproductive. I woke up to roosters which was a little annoying. I am pretty sure they have no idea what time it is. One rooster starts up then starts up 20 minutes or so later. Today I met the mother of Ricardo as she came by my hotel. She was suppose to show me some apartments but said she wouldn't be able to come at one. Around 10 am I left to get breakfast. I encountered a little boy on my walk to the restaurant who was trying to get me to take a trip to some town. When I said I was going to eat he asked how much I would pay him to show me a restaurant. :-)

I ate at a restaurant called El Pescador. I had a typical Guatemalan breakfast and used their wifi as the wifi in the hotel had not been working all day. After hanging out at the restaurant, to use their wifi, I walked back to my hotel and stopped at a couple of booths where people tried to get me to buy things and kept lowering the price when I said I was just looking.
I hung out in my hotel and waited for Jena (a friend of Ricardo) to come and show me the town and some apartments. The first one we went to the people didn't answer. We then walked back into town and I met Owen whom I will be working with in ADISA when I return in May. Jenna and I then went to see another apartment and afterwards I went back to my hotel. I then spent a couple of hours trying to get the internet to work. I finished the night by watching tv as everything closes early on Sunday as it is a religious day.

Ah well. Tomorrow is another day.
