Boquete

I arrived in David around 7 something in the morning. The trip was suppose to take 6 hours per the people in the bus station but Lonely Planet said 7-8 hours so I guess it got something right. Then I found the bus stop to Bouquete and waited for maybe 30 minutes before boarding the bus. Now this was an old recycled school bus with 3 on one side and 2 on the other. I got into Bouquete around 8:30 am and then went to look for a place to stay. The place I wanted to stay was booked so I kept looking. I found one place but couldn't check in until after 12 pm. So I left my backpack and went to find something to do. I went and asked about tours. I had initially come to Bouquete to hike the volcano. However around march 31st 2 girls from Holland had gone missing when they went on a hike, so people think, and still hadn't been found. Therefore I was told they were restricting people from going up without a guide. The cost for a jeep ride up was around $150 and then other hikes (you were driven up part of the way) were about $90. So at this point I was thinking this may or may not happen. I then went and ate. Afterwards it was around 11 am so I decided I would go back to the hostel and wait. When I got back to the hostel the room was ready so I was able to check in early. After checking in I promptly got into bed and took a nap. I woke up a bit later and went back to the tour office to see if they had any tours going out later or in the morning. I then walked to a garden called La Explordora. When I got there it was close to 5 pm and the garden closed at 6 pm. I decided I would come back tomorrow earlier. I had really enjoyed the walk as Bouquete is beautiful. They have very green trees, flowers, and mountains with lush green foliage as well as streams. When I first came I didn't know how long I would stay but after seeing it I decided I would stay 3 days and get some R & R and catch up on my blog and work on my book. On the way back I stopped at a supermarket and bought food to cook. I went back to the hostel and relaxed for a bit before cooking dinner. After dinner I got ready for bed then watched a couple of episodes of Criminal Minds before going to bed. Also they were having some type of festival so they had music playing until late at night.
