Zapitilla and beyond

One word. Tired! We decided to meet up at 8:30 am. Yeva and Yana thought it would be enough time to grab something to eat and make out boat trip by 9:30 am. We went to a place that was a couple houses down from the tour office. We ordered our food and waited. Then waited some more. Then waited some more. They finally brought my food and it was already past 9 am. The 2 girls asked them if they could hurry because we had to go and the server said he would try. In the end the girls were annoyed and decided they would leave their food as it was almost 9:30 am. We got up to leave and the server said the food just came out. So he boxed it up and only charged them for 1. After we paid we went to the tour office. Guess what? They said the tour was leaving at 9:45 am instead. So we had hurried for nothing! And now we can't go back to that restaurant! We got on the boat with some other people after 9:45 am (of course) and off we went. On the boat we met a girl, Rebecca, from South Carolina. She is currently doing an internship in Costa Rica and had to leave for 72 hours as she doesn't have a passport. You are only allowed to stay in most Central American countries for 90 days without a VISA as an American citizen. First we stopped at an area to watch dolphins. All the boats come here so there were at least 5-8 other boats there. When one of the boats saw dolphins they would try to move their boat closer to the dolphins. Poor dolphins! Afterwards we went to an island where they have a restaurant. Apparently the only restaurant for miles because they can charge whatever outrageous prices they want. Seafood dishes start at about $15. Which I find crazy for the area especially since the restaurant was on the sea! We stopped here to put in our food orders. After everyone had ordered we got back on the boat and went to Zapitilla Island. Now this is a beautiful island and beach! Its like a little slice of paradise. Here we had to pay $5 as its a national parquet reserved or something like that. We spent several hours here. The 4 of us (Yeva, Yana, Rebecca, and I) went and walked around the island and then hung out the rest of the time. It was wonderful! We also found a spot where barely anyone was which was nice. We got back on the boat after 2:30 pm and went back to eat. After we ate the people that wanted to go snorkeling were taken out to snorkel for about 30 minutes. Yana and I stayed behind and I dozed off in the hammock. Afterwards the boat returned and picked us up and brought us back to the main island. Yana and Yeva went to buy their ticket to Panama City. They had already put down a down payment and were going to leave tomorrow. Rebecca and I went to find out about renting bikes. She had walked over 2 or 4 hours to get to the main part of the island today!  Renting bikes is interesting in itself. Basically there is a bunch of bikes on one side of the street. When we asked about the bikes we were directed to a lady sitting in a chair on the opposite side of the street. Rebecca wanted to rent the bike overnight and return it the next day so the lady had to go walk somewhere to ask her boss. Her boss okayed it so Rebecca paid and gave her name and took the bike. And that is how you rent bikes. No paper trail. The lady didn't even write her name down. Just pure trust. Rebecca then went to reserved her ticket as the buses to Panama City fill up fast. I had decided to take the long route to Panama City since I hadn't bought my ticket in advance and the next bus I could get on was leaving Thursday. So now I would have to go do David and then catch a bus to Panama City. This adds about 2 hours to the trip excluding waiting time in between. Anyways Rebecca left to ride back to her hotel and I went back to the hostel. I met up with the girls and we ate some fruit. We then decided we would meet up tonight at 9 pm. I went to the room to rest and fell asleep as I was very tired. I woke up around 8:30 pm and got ready as fast as possible. I met the girls a little after 9 and we set off to find a spot to hang out. We weren't really hungry so we looked for some chill spots with music. Unfortunately it is Sunday and nothing much was happening. We were going to take the boat and go to Aqua lounge hostel but was told that nothing was going on today as it was Sunday. We went back to the discoteca we had went to yesterday but it was dead. We went to another place but it was weird music with hippies so we left. We ended up going back to the pizza place. While we were there we were told the place next door would have live music in a little while so we went next door. We only stayed for a short while because nothing was really going on. Boca's is not a party town (to me) but it is a very chill strange town. If you want to get the chill Caribbean vibe while being in Central America then I suggest you go here.
