Panama City Day 1

I woke up early before 6 am. Luckily I did because when I looked at my phone Dariel had messaged me to see where I was. I gave him my location and waited for him. After he arrived I got ready to go, ate, and headed out. I am very tired! We walked around the downtown area and near the waterfront. The view of downtown Panama is beautiful. We went to a couple malls and by his time I was ready to fall asleep. We also rode the new metro that opened a couple days ago. People were taking pictures of the metro and of themselves on the metro. He showed me the bus terminal and where to catch the red devil bus (aka chicken bus) to Panama Viejo. Afterwards he took me back to my hostel. At this point I was beat. I was running on lack of sleep and I went to lay down and rest. I watched some shows and then took a nap. Later when I woke up I saw I had a message from Mariella, a girl I had met on Couchsurfing. She actually has my last name as her middle name and had introduced herself to me becuase of this. She said she could meet me today.  So I messaged her back and we agreed to meet up after she got out of work. Later, after figuring out where u was, she came and got me. She drove me around and gave me a night tour of the city. Afterwards we went out to eat at a seafood place. At dinner we decided we would go to Colon on Saturday since she is free on the weekends. I hadn't planned on staying in the City past Friday but I thought it would be cool to see Colon and hang out with her.  We then continued the tour of the city. She also showed me another hostel around the corner from me and I booked it for the next night.  It is a interesting hostel with artwork and murals. Then she took me back to the hostel. I'm not sure why but I was pretty tired at this point. So I played around on the internet a bit then went to bed. All in all a long day. Hello Panama City!
