Today I woke up and laid in bed for a bit. I watched some shows on the internet. I ate breakfast around 8:00 am (free breakfast at the hostel) and then I went back and laid down for another hour or so. I finally got up out of bed and got ready. I walked to the supermarket and bought some chips, fruit, and soda. I walked back to the hostel to cut up my mango. It was delicious! I walked to the bus stop, which is right next to the hostel, and waited for the bus. The bus came within 15-20 minutes as they run frequently. The bus ride took maybe 30 minutes. I walked from the park sign to the entrance of the park. When I go to the entrance I was told tickets weren't sold there and I had to walk back to the ticket counter and buy my ticket. I then returned to the entrance and gave them my ticket. Then I was able to go in. As I was walking into the park I saw the 2 girls I had met in Monteverde (the ones I went to the cloud forest with) and we chatted a bit and then went our separate ways. Yeva and Yana are their names. I walked along some trails (some of them were closed) and then hung out at the beach. I tried to lay down but there was a raccoon that was walking around. It began to walk toward me and then it ran after me and grabbed my bag. I had to pick up my bag and shake it off and then yell at it to get it off my bag. It was crazy! Also I don't think raccoons should be put in the day although I have been told in Central America they are out in the day. I then laid down and rested for a bit. I kept dozing off but kept hearing stuff in the bushes and kept waking up. There are a lot of iguanas and other animals. I must have dozed off but when I woke up I saw an iguana nearby. I figured it would move on and leave. I decided that it was a good time to eat a banana. When I was trying to eat my banana the iguana ran after me and started chasing me. I got up and ran and part of my banana fell and the iguana ate it. It then stood near my stuff and looked at me (threateningly). A lady walking by saw me and asked if I was scared. I said yes. So she went and picked up my stuff for me. I moved to a new spot and hung out at the beach for a bit more. I then went and found a trail that I hadn't seen before and walked into an area where monkeys were. A lot of monkeys. Some of them were a little scary because they would walk right next to you and some bared their teeth. They also would hop onto the bridge and into the trees. If you let them they take your things. One tried to get in my bag but I moved. Then raccoons came and fought over a coconut with the monkeys. The raccoons won. I continued on the trail and saw another animal, which I still can't remember the name. It was after 4 (the park closes at 4pm) and when I walked back to the beach it was pretty deserted. So I went and hung out at the beach some more. Then I tried to find the exit. I walked to the path that was marked exit and couldn't figure out how to get out. You walk out into some trees and then onto a bank and then there is just water and then the public beach on the other side of the water. I stood for a minute or so and then walked into the forest area to see if I could exit that way. Nope. I then walked back and found a couple trying to leave the same way. I told them that there was like a stream but it looked a bit deep. They went to check it out so I went too. We stood at the bank for a bit and the guy told me that this looked to be the way out. Otherwise you have to walk around 1 hour to get out. The guy put his bag overhead and began walking across while the lady and I looked on. The water got to around chest deep. He came back to get the ladies things and then me and her waded across. That was quite different. I think that that is a way you can sneak in but it deters people with the water or stream or whatever... I don't know. Also there is a sign nearby that says crocodiles. I then went and got ice-cream and waited for the bus. I got back to the hostel and took a shower. Later Mauricio (guy who runs hostel) came back and I told him I would like dinner later. So I relaxed and caught up on some shows and then ate dinner. The rest of the night I relaxed and did nothing but watch shows. I am a bit tired. I need some rest days.
