Matagalpa

Today I woke up early to go on a tour with Guillermo. He had a group of 3 people going and I wanted to tag along since I wasn't doing anything. I also told him he could give me the tour, La Pita, for free as my payment for all the work on his website. I got up and cooked myself breakfast and then got ready to go. He left a little before 8 am to go meet the people. He gave them a tour of the town and then came back for me. The group consisted of Guillermo, 3 people from Switzerland (2 girls and a guy), and me. So we walked down to the market area and took a cab. The market was closed due to Semana de Santa. We were dropped off in the town of San Ramon near a gravel road that led to the farm. We walked  up toward the farm and along the way Guillermo talked to us about the plants and trees. We got to see an interesting tree that when you cut it bleeds. This tree actually helps with anemia and sickle cell anemia but sadly they don't sell it as medicine.  We also learned about a tree that can help with cancer. We met up with another guide named Daniel. He showed us the farm and many of the plants. We learned about coco (for chocolate) and coffee plants. We also got to try some local passion fruit. The guides were all very knowledgeable and the farmer was also. Also it is an organic farm. Next we took a break and ate fruit and had coffee. We actually had a lot of different fruit: 2 types of mango, apple, coconut, oranges, banana's, and some local fruit that I didn't like at all. Afterwards we continued our walk up the hills of the farm. At the end of the tour we walked back to the village and waited for the guy to come and pick us up. When we got back into town we hung out for a bit and then Guillermo and I went back to his home. I went back to working on his website and he left saying that he would be back (right....). I worked on the website for some hours. I get stuck on things when I can't figure them out and this was one of them as the website was giving me some difficulties. Around 7:30 pm I cooked myself dinner and then got ready to go out. Guillermo still hadn't come back but he called to tell me to walk down the street to the hostel. So I walked to meet him and then we ended up hanging out with a guy and girl for a bit and then just the girl. She is from Spain and has been traveling for a couple months. We then went to find the bar/restaurant. We ended up hanging with some of Guillermo's friends for the night. All in all we had a good time and stayed up way past my bed time.
